Camembert Supreme

Camembert is one of France’s most famous cheeses and its appealing taste and texture have raised it to the upper echelons of the world’s favorite cheeses as well. It is reputed to have been created in 1791 by Marie Harel, a farmer from the town of Camembert in the Normandy region of northern France. Legend says that she provided refuge to a priest from Brie during the French Revolution. In exchange he gave her the “secret” to produce this delightful soft-ripened delicacy.

The legend is nice, but the real show stopper is the cheese itself! Bongrain® Camembert Supreme cheese’s aromatic edible white rind surrounds a delicately creamy yellow paste with a succulently buttery flavor. This “crème de la crème” is most famously presented with baguettes, but can also be served simply with a crisp apple and toasted pecans.
