DCI Cheese Company's brands receive five awards at ACS Annual Cheese Competition
DCI Cheese Company (DCI) is pleased to announce that five of its product offerings were awarded at the ACS Annual Cheese Competition held last week in Seattle:
Black Diamond® Chardonnay & Extra Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack Cheese Food (3rd place, Cheese Spreads: Cold Pack Cheese Food and Cheese Spreads with Flavor Added - Spices, Herbs, Seasonings, Fruits - All Milks)
- Black Diamond® Extra Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack Cheese Food (1st place, Open Category Made from Cow’s Milk)
- Great Midwest® Morel & Leek Jack (2nd place, Flavored Cheeses: Flavor Added Monterey Jack - Made from Cow’s Milk)
- Liederkranz (3rd place, American Originals: Liederkranz)
- Salemville® Smokehaus Blue™ (3rd place, Smoked Cheeses: Open Category Made from Cow’s Milk)
Black Diamond Aged Cheddar is world renowned for its classic full cheddar flavor and pleasant sharpness developed slowly through careful and natural aging. Made with two-year aged cheddar, the cold packs offer the same robust flavor with a creamy and spreadable texture, making them perfect for entertaining.
Great Midwest flavored jack wheels are known for their unique flavors and incomparable creaminess. Great Midwest Morel & Leek Jack is a smooth, delicate cheese with subtle hints of natural flavors infused in every bite. All the flavorings used in production are prepared and blended in small batches to ensure just the right flavor profile and consistency in every slice.
Liederkranz (pronounced “LEE-duhr-krahntz”) is a surface-ripened snack cheese with a distinctly strong aroma and unique, full-bodied flavor. It is an American replication of Germany’s Limburger cheese that has the same texture and unique aroma, but features a distinctively robust and buttery flavor. Recently reintroduced to the market after a 25-year hiatus, Liederkranz has received widespread acclaim from a legion of dedicated consumers who warmly welcomed the cheese back.
Salemville Smokehaus Blue is a hand-crafted, Applewood smoked cheese that is aged 60 days and has a slightly sweet, lightly smoky flavor. Smokehaus Blue recently took first place in the Blue-Veined Cheese category at the 2010 Wisconsin State Fair Cheese & Butter Contest as well. It is available as six pound wheels and repacks at participating retailers nationwide.
DCI is now accepting orders for award-winning Black Diamond Chardonnay & Extra Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack, Black Diamond Extra Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack, Great Midwest Morel & Leek Jack, Liederkranz and Salemville Smokehaus Blue.
