DCI Cheese Company success at the 2008 World Championship Cheese Contest

DCI Cheese Company and its exclusive supplier partners captured a stunning total of four awards at the 2008 World Championship Cheese Contest held in Madison, WI on March 11-13. This year’s competition garnered 1,941 entries from 19 countries.

Most notably, il Giardino Mountain Gorgonzola, imported from Italy, took home top honors at the contest. It was awarded a Gold in the Gorgonzola class, and First-Runner Up overall in the competition.

  • Queso Autentico de Espana® Iberico, Imported from Spain, Awarded Gold in the Semi-Soft Sheep’s Milk & Mixed Milk Cheeses Class
  • Salemville®, 2nd Place, Blue Cheese Class

The World Championship Cheese Contest is a technical evaluation of cheeses and butters and awards gold, silver and bronze medals to the finest products in 79 classes.

The World Championship Cheese Contest is hosted by the nonprofit Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association with assistance from dozens of industry volunteers.
