Success at the 2009 ACS

DCI Cheese Company success at the 2009 American Cheese Society competition

DCI Cheese Company and its exclusive supplier partners captured an impressive four ribbons at the 2009 American Cheese Society Competition held in Austin, Texas earlier this month. This year’s competition garnered a total of 1,327 cheeses entries from 197 producers in 32 states, in addition to Canada and Mexico. This was an extraordinary year as the competition produced a record number of entries to make this the most competitive contest in ACS history.

Most notably, DCI Cheese captured two First Place awards: Klondike Low Fat Feta (Fat Free and Low Fat Cheeses Category) and Great Midwest Roasted Red Pepper Mozzarella Cheese (Cheeses Flavored with Peppers – All Milks category).

Other notable awards:

  • Henning’s Colby 2nd Place, Colby – Made from cow’s milk
  • Henning’s Chipotle Cheddar 3rd Place, Cheddar Flavored with Sweet, Savory, Jalapeno, Chipotle, Red, Green Peppers; Black, White, Green Peppercorns; Garlic, Onions
