Filo Parcel Stuffed with Asparagus

Makes 4 Servings.


  • 7 oz. fresh asparagus, peeled
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 filo dough sheet, thawed
  • 1-1/4 cups (5 oz.) smoked Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Preheat oven to 375°F.

Cook the asparagus in boiling salted water until soft, about 6-7 minutes. Remove and place in ice cold water.

Unwrap and divide the filo dough unto 8 pieces. Cut each of those pieces into two layers. Brush each with melted butter.

Dice the asparagus, season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with the smoked Cheddar cheese. Divide into 8 servings and place on the filo dough.

Butter the filo dough and gather all of the edges to the middle to make a "purse" shape.

Place each on a greased baking tray and bake until golden brown. About 5-10 minutes.
