Liederkranz® Finger Sandwiches

Makes 4 servings.


  • 3 slices rye bread with seeds (mini coctail rye can be substituted)
  • 1 package Liederkranz® cheese (cut into 12 slices, about 1/8 inch thick)
  • 1 red onion, sliced thinly
  • Salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste


Take rye bread slice and cut into quarters. Place Liederkranz® slices on top of quartered bread. Top with thinly sliced red onion. Season with salt and fresh ground pepper.

Cook's Notes: If you love cheese, you have to try this! Do not let this cheese's strong aroma deter you from trying this appetizer; the taste of Liederkranz® is actually very mild. Note that cheese will taste best at room temperature.
