Ski Queen®


Gjetost (“YAY-toast”) literally means "goat cheese" in Norwegian, but this sweet and nutty cheese is so much more complex than the translation implies. Gjetost is made from a mixture of milk, cream and whey—a byproduct of traditional cheesemaking—that is carefully simmered for several hours. During this time the water evaporates and the milk sugar caramelizes into a uniquely sweet flavor and dense, fudge-like texture. Packed with energy, Gjetost is a traditional favorite at Norwegian breakfasts and is fondly referred to as candy cheese.
